It is the first of two units designed as a holistic approach to professional enquiry.Professional Enquiry 2 (MA)This unit aims to consolidate students\x92 skills and knowledge and understanding of policy and practice by conducting a medium scale workplace based enquiry linked to increasing understandings or improvement of professional practice. It is the second of 2 units designed as a holistic approach to professional enquiry.Option UnitsDeveloping Mentoring/Coaching Skills in ContextThis unit is designed to support and accredit skills in mentoring and coaching. You will need to be in the role of coach or mentor to complete this unit and should have or be undertaking some role related/context specific training.Leading Change in Learning OrganisationsThis unit is predicated on the principles that in the context of ubiquitous change organisations must learn in order to survive and that effective leadership enables that learning. The skills and attitudes for the effective change leadership are considered and in relation to the internal and external context of change.Professional Development for New TeachersThis unit is intended to provide Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) the opportunity to continue the professional practice developed in their training programme (eg PGCE, BA or School based route). The unit will support and enhance school based Induction programmes and will be delivered through conferences and workshops as well as through online activity.Professional Identities in EducationThis unit introduces key themes that will support critical engagement and debate in current issues around professional identity in Education, Teaching and Learning in formal and informal learning environments.Professional Practice ProjectThe unit has been developed in response to the changing arena for teachers` CPD. It is evident from Government policy and local trends that Universities and Higher Education Institutes need to work with schools and other settings more closely to provide accredited post graduate CPD opportunities for teachers. The CPD that is provided needs to be flexible, academically robust and progressive.This unit allows you to undertake a thematic project in that has particular relevance to their professional practice and development. This may be curriculum, cross curricular or pastorally based. It may be linked to an institution wide project or initiative (examples include: introduction of new curricula, implementation of new school bullying policy).You may also choose to complete Evaluating Professional Practice Project in context in conjunction with this unit.

Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Upper Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
This is a practice-based programme for NQTs and experienced teachers.
