Semester 1 (UPWr)

Biotechnology of plant products, forms of intellectual and industrial property, diploma seminar and laboratory

Semester 2 (UMH)

Biotechnological advances in food production, food hygiene, innovation in meat, dairy, fish and plant-based food production, sensory analysis as a tool for food innovation, management and funding of research, planning and preparation of scientific papers, research in quality and safety of animal products, master thesis.

Semester 3 (UPWr)

Aromatic profile in food and its relationship with quality, antioxidants, nutraceuticals, and functional food ingredients, innovative packaging, advanced methodologies in food quality and safety, advanced animal well-being, biosiustainability and assesment of food industry co-products, market research and directions of agro-food marketing, master thesis.

Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

For admission to general academic postgraduate study of Food Technology and Human Nutrition, applicants must have earned a bachelor\xc2\x92s degree with engineering competence necessary to continue their education at postgraduate course in their field of study. In particular, the candidate should comply with the following competence requirements:

  • knowledge in chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, mathematics and physics relevant to food science;
  • knowledge and skills in evaluation of raw materials and plan and animal food products;
  • knowledge and skills in application of various food technology operations, equipment and devices;
  • knowledge and skills in food manufacturing, preservation and storage processes;
  • knowledge and skills in the field of sensory, physical-chemical, microbiological and toxicological food analysis;
  • knowledge of the principles of rational nutrition for different population groups and the ability to develop appropriate dietary plans for the healthy and the sick;
  • skills in reporting, presentation and documentation of research results and presentation and documentation of project assignment results.

English Proficiency: IELTS 7 or equivalent.
