You need the following GPA score:

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

Admissions decisions are based primarily on a review of the following:

  • Your commitment to the mission of the Brown School.
  • Your undergraduate GPA over the last 60 \xc2\x96 75 semester credit hours (90 \xc2\x96 105 quarter credit hours) on transcripts provided at the time of application. The Brown School requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Additional academic work you may have undertaken following completion of an undergraduate degree, if applicable.
  • Your score on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), especially the quantitative reasoning score. (Scores from other admissions tests may be submitted instead.)
  • Specialized training(s) relevant to the degree program completed by applicant.
  • Your human service-related experience (paid, volunteer, research and internship).
  • Recommendation letters and/or forms submitted.
  • You may also submit an optional statement explaining any concerns you have about your application, including extenuating circumstances that should be considered as we review your academic history.

The MPH program requires that you complete an undergraduate campus-based human biology course with a grade of \xc2\x93B\xc2\x94 or better. Students must complete the human biology prerequisite prior to starting classes.
