Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 3.3

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3.3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

  • A grade point average of 3.3 (B+) or higher.
  • A mathematics background of at least 5 mathematics courses beyond multivariable calculus, including at least two semesters of proof-writing courses (such a analysis, abstract algebra or topology).
  • Graduate Record Examination scores of:
  • 153 (Current Scale) 500 (Prior Scale) or above on the Verbal part
  • 156 (Current Scale) 720 (Prior Scale) or above on the Quantitative part
  • 3.0 or above on the Analytical Writing part
  • A TOEFL score of 100 (IBT)/ 250 (CBT)/ 600 (PBT) or above, or IELTS band score of 7, if the applicant is not a native English speaker.

English Proficiency: IELTS 7 or equivalent.
