About

The Environmental Law Program at the University of Maryland Carey School of Law provides a comprehensive legal education focused on environmental law and policy. It combines rigorous academics with experiential learning opportunities, including clinics and externships. Students can earn a Concentration in Environmental Law by completing 17 credits of coursework in areas such as climate change, energy law, and natural resources law.

The program offers hands-on experience through the Environmental Law Clinic and externships with organizations like the Environmental Protection Agency and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. Students also engage in extracurricular activities through the Maryland Environmental Law Society and have opportunities to participate in international environmental projects.

Graduates of the program are prepared for careers in public and private sectors, tackling critical environmental issues locally and globally.
