The University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) offers a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialty in Community/Public Health Nursing. This program equips nurses with advanced practice skills to develop, implement, and evaluate public health initiatives that are both effective and culturally sensitive.

The program includes two practicum courses, totaling 315 service-learning hours. Students collaborate with advisors to secure practicum placements that align with their interests and career aspirations.

Additional Opportunities:

UMSON maintains partnerships with over 50 community and public health programs at various governmental levels, as well as with nonprofit and hospital organizations. These collaborations provide students with interprofessional opportunities to work alongside peers from other disciplines, enhancing outcomes for vulnerable populations.
