GLOBAL CAMPUSES AND CENTERS

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) does not have multiple global campuses, but it actively engages in international collaborations, partnerships, and global initiatives. UMB focuses on addressing global health, law, and social justice challenges through its various schools and programs.

However, UMB has a strong global presence through its partnerships and affiliations with institutions worldwide, particularly in the areas of public health, law, and medicine. These initiatives often involve faculty and students collaborating on research, global health projects, and international exchanges.

Key International Engagements:

  1. Global Health Initiatives: UMB's School of Medicine and School of Pharmacy are actively involved in global health research and projects in areas such as HIV/AIDS, infectious diseases, and vaccine development, particularly through the Institute of Human Virology (IHV) and the Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health (CVD).

  2. Global Collaborations: UMB partners with academic institutions, governments, and organizations worldwide to improve healthcare, legal systems, and social services. These partnerships foster student and faculty exchanges and international research collaborations.

  3. Study Abroad and Exchange Programs: While UMB itself does not have foreign campuses, students can participate in global health fieldwork, legal clinics, and social work placements in various countries through study abroad programs and international partnerships.

UMB’s global reach extends through these initiatives, providing opportunities for students to gain international experience and contribute to global health and legal reforms.
