Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: Lower Second Class

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Lower Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

A mid 2:2 degree (55%+) with honours in an Accounting, Finance or related discipline from a recognised university, with relevant modules at 2:1 level. Candidates may also offer ACCA papers F1 - F9. We do consider all applications where there is evidence of exceptional performance in modules relevant to the programme of study, significant relevant work experience or professional qualifications such as CFA, ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS and CIMA.

Prerequisites

In order to apply for the MSc Accounting and Finance modules at undergraduate level should have been taken in: Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics*. This must include at least four accounting modules and should include Cost or Management Accounting and Financial Accounting (preferably at an advanced level).

* Mathematics modules may include, for example, Algebra, Calculus, Econometrics, Statistics, Probability or Optimisation.
