Academic Requirements

Admission Requirements:

A candidate must: (a) (i) hold the degree of Bachelor of Education of UNE; or (ii) hold a bachelor degree of a university and either a diploma in the field of education or the equivalent of one year of full-time study in education beyond that required for a three-year first degree; or (iii) hold a graduate diploma relevant to the degree; or (iv) hold the Master of Education and have attained a level of Credit or better in eighteen points in Education; or (b) satisfy the Higher Degrees Research Committee, upon the recommendation of the faculty by means of other qualifications and relevant experience of adequate preparation for candidature.

E1. Admission

In compliance with Rule 1(b) applicants are required to have:

  • \xc2\xb7 the degree of Bachelor of Education of The University of New England; or
  • \xc2\xb7 a bachelor degree of a university and either a diploma in the field of education or the equivalent of one year of full-time study in education beyond that required for a three-year first degree; or
  • \xc2\xb7 hold a graduate diploma relevant to the degree; or
  • \xc2\xb7 hold the Master of Education; and
  • \xc2\xb7 for all of the above have attained a level of Credit or better in 18 credit points in education; or
  • \xc2\xb7 satisfy the Higher Degrees Research Committee, upon the recommendation of the faculty by means of other qualifications and relevant experience of adequate preparation for candidature

E1.2. MEd(Res)(Special Education). It is expected that applicants will have had at least two years\' post graduation experience. In addition, applicants will be required to have passed at least one unit in special education or have special education work experience.
