Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3.25 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
You need the following GMAT score:
The GMAT is specifically designed for admission to business or management schools, and is meant to test how prepared you are for a business degree programme
Admissions Requirements
- Hold a four-year business Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university;
- Show high promise of success in graduate studies as determined by the faculty based upon a minimum score of 500 on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) score or Graduate Record Exam (GRE). Applicants submitting GRE scores will be considered on an individual basis. The GMAT requirement will be waived if the student has a:
- graduate degree from an AACSB accredited university;
- passed all parts of the CPA exam or;
- obtained an undergraduate accounting degree from FIU with a GPA of at least 3.25 in their upper-level undergraduate coursework AND a 3.0 GPA in classes equivalent to Intermediate Financial Accounting I (ACG 4101), Financial Accounting II (ACG 4111), Management Accounting (ACG 4341), and Income Tax Accounting (TAX 4001);
- Have a minimum upper division grade point average (GPA) of 3.0;
- Graduate student applicants whose studies were completed outside of the U.S must demonstrate proficiency of the English language by presenting a minimum score of 80 on the iBT TOEFL (equivalent to 550 on the paper-based version) or 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IETLS);
- Be in good standing with all previously attended colleges and universities.
Application Process (All Applicants)
- Application: complete the online application. You may submit this, even if you havent yet taken the GMAT or TOEFL.
- Official transcripts: request transcripts from all previously attended colleges and/or universities, in a sealed envelope.
- If your official transcript is not in English, you must submit two original transcripts from your university. The first set of transcripts must remain in the sealed envelope. The second set of transcripts should be sent to an official translation agency for translation.
- Official proof of degree: a copy of the original diploma is required if the degree is not posted on the official transcript. (If you are an FIU bachelors or masters degree graduate, there is no need to have additional transcripts sent.)

The Chapman Graduate School of Business offers special GMAT preparation courses throughout the year.
If you fail to meet one or more of the above criteria, or feel your earned GPA or standardized test scores are not indicative of your ability to be successful in a graduate degree program, please submit additional documentation to augment your application portfolio.
As this is a competitive program, those candidates with the best combination of GPA and test scores will have first opportunity of acceptance. You must submit a completed application packet to be considered. Meeting minimum admission requirements is not a guarantee of admission.
