Academic Requirements

There are different programmes offered with different admission requirements. For detailed information about the requirements please visit our webpage. Study programmes offered:

  • Master in Music Performance - Classical, jazz improvisation music, and conducting, 120 ECTS (2 years programme)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Music Performance, 60 ECTS (1 year programme)
  • Extention Studies in Music Performance - Classical, jazz improvisation music, and conducting, 60 ECTS (1 year programme)
  • Music Production and Recording, 60 ECTS (1 year programme)

Entrance auditionsThe entrance auditions for music studies will be arranged in March every year. If you are a foreign student outside Scandinavia who cannot meet for live auditions, it is possible to send us a DVD with 45 minutes of unedited music together with the application package. That is IF you have received an e-mail telling that you are successfully qualified to the next round of the application process.

General information All our graduate and postgraduate studies are open for international applicants. It is only our undergraduate studies, as for example the Bachelor programmes, that are taught in Norwegian only, and the programmes requires of course knowledge of Norwegian language. The Master programme is taught in English.

English Proficiency: IELTS 6 or equivalent.
