Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
- A first degree (2:1 class or above) or equivalent, in a relevant subject from an approved institution of higher education. Exceptional applicants without a first degree will be considered, but will usually be required to undertake the Biological Foundations in Clinical Practice and Related Pharmacology module. Applicants may also be required to attend for interview
- A current professional registration with a relevant professional / statutory body or equivalent
- At least two years\' relevant clinical experience as a registered nurse, including one years\' experience within ophthalmic nursing.
- A satisfactory academic reference and a satisfactory clinical reference
Applicants will be able to bring to the programme recent studies (up to 45 credits) taken elsewhere, and thereby be exempted from one or more modules.
For students whose first language is not English, one of the following is also required:
- A first degree from a UK university or an overseas institution recognised by the University as providing adequate evidence of proficiency in the English language, for example, from institutions in Australia, Canada or the USA
- IELTS: 7.0
- TOEFL (internet based): 107
- Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: 72
- Other evidence of proficiency in the English language, which satisfies the board of studies concerned.
For students whose first language is not English, one of the following is also required:
- A first degree from a UK university or an overseas institution recognised by the University as providing adequate evidence of proficiency in the English language, for example, from institutions in Australia, Canada or the USA
