Program Curriculum

Course Structure

  1. Number of credits: 30 (31 credits total with the inclusion of the MATH course requirement)
  2. Required Thesis credits: 6
  3. The corresponding thesis, independently written by the student as single author, must be approved by the advisor as well as two additional committee members from the department\x92s faculty (Master\x92s Committee). Your thesis defense will be presented to this committee.
  4. All courses used to earn the master\x92s degree must be taken at the 4000 or 6000-level. No courses used to complete undergraduate degree requirements may also be counted towards the completion of a graduate degree.
  5. Out of the 24 credits of course work: a minimum of 12 credits must be completed at the 6000-level with a maximum of 12 credits taken at the 4000-level.
  6. One 4000 or 6000-level MATH course.
  7. Out of the 30 (31) credits: a minimum of 15 credits must be from MANE.
  8. No credits from departments outside of the schools of Engineering or Science can be applied to your degree without prior approval from the Graduate Program Director.
  9. Maximum of 3 credits of Individual Project/Independent Study.
