Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

Admission Requirements:

There are two rounds of academic admission. You can apply for academic admission either at Round 1 or at Round 2, but Erasmus Mundus scholarships are only offered at Round 1.

Be aware that an application can be considered only once a year: if you have applied for the first round without success, there is no possibility that your application will be considered again at the second round.

Academic admission refers to the right to follow the course, after a review of the academic background and professional project of the applicant. Candidates may be admitted even though they are not selected for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.

The minimum admission criteria are the same for all students irrespective of their country of origin or of the training track they apply for: \xc2\xb7 Bachelor of Sciences (180 ECTS) or equivalent in Agricultural sciences or a BA in Social Sciences if the candidate can demonstrate a particular interest for agriculture; \xc2\xb7 Verified excellent quality of the institution where this last degree was obtained; \xc2\xb7 Excellent academic background with marks identifying the candidate among the 20% best students of his former studies (1st class or 2nd class with honours); \xc2\xb7 Strongly convincing letter of motivation and 2 letters of support from referees.

Choice of the training tracks

The candidate is invited to select the training track he/she applies for. Once the admission is official, the candidate has to follow the chosen study tracks. Limited changes remain possible once the student has started the course, only upon agreement with the coordinator and the tutors in charge of the M1 and the M2.

Language test

When the candidate is selected, she/he will be asked to produce a certificate in the language of his chosen M1 training. When a candidate fails to produce a successful language test before arrival, her/his admission may be cancelled.

English: IELTS 6 in English for all training tracks starting with an M1 in Cork, Copenhagen or Wageningen;

French: For students starting their training track at Montpellier, the TFI (French International Test www.fr.tfi-europe.com/) level 427 (level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference) has to be proven and allows students to arrive directly at the Orientation Week, end of August. Students who can not prove a B2 level should arrive on July 1st, and attend the Summer course organised at Montpellier (the summer courses),

All tests have to be sent to the Agris Mundus secretariat before June 15th, otherwise the scholarship offered may be cancelled. In case they encounter serious difficulties to take the TFI within this deadline, students should inform the Agris Mundus secretariat, so a level test in the distance can be organized by Montpellier SupAgros Language Departement.

Beware: the selection is high !

Agris Mundus is a high level Master of Science and the selection at admission is severe (last application results). Only candidates who are able to show evidence of a very good level and well constructed motivation have a chance to be admitted. Within this group, preference will be then given to candidates with appropriate professional experience and strongly convincing recommendations by an academic or a professional body.

Candidates who cannot show evidence of such criteria are invited to refrain from applying.

English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
