Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 2.8

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.8 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

Admission requirements
A student applying to a master\'s program must:
  • have earned a four-year bachelor\'s degree or its equivalent from a college or university that is accredited by the appropriate regional accrediting association, or do so within one academic year
  • have a minimum 2.8 GPA (on a scale in which an A is a 4.0) for the last 60 hours of undergraduate work
  • present official transcripts from each college or university other than Illinois State at which graduate, undergraduate, or non-degree credit was earned.
A student applying to the master\'s program in Agricience must:
  • submit names and email addresses of two references for letters of recommendation within the online application
  • submit official GRE Scores (use institutional code 1319)
  • International students must have a TOEFL score of at least 92 iBT, 237 computer-based, or 580 paper-based; the minimum acceptable IELTS score is 6.5 band.
