Program Curriculum
Course Structure
- Learn how to collect, import, manage, process and visualise different kinds of digital data for archaeological research. Apply this knowledge to use such methods and tools to analyse, interpret and present digital archaeological data in a meaningful way.
- Engage in practical work, either in our own computer laboratories, during fieldwork related to one of our (international) research projects, or during internships at one of our partner institutions.
- Acquire in-depth experience in one of the subfields of Digital Archaeology covered by this MSc-programme: Surveying and geophysical prospection; Remote sensing and image analysis; 3D modelling and virtual reconstruction; Spatial statistics and analysis; Modelling and simulation;Data management.

Academic Requirements
In order to be considered for this programme, you should:
- have a BA degree (or equivalent) in Archaeology or relevant discipline. Additional specific requirements may apply per specialisation area.
- The thesis needs to have been graded with 7,0 or higher (Dutch grading system).
- Average overall grade is 7,0 or higher.
- Leiden Archaeology students must have completed the BA3 specialisation\xc2\xa0Bioarchaeology, for other students an equivalent is required. The required bioarchaeological courses depend on the MSc-specialisation of choice.
