Academic Requirements
The following AAU bachelor degree will grant applicants access to the masters programme in Information Studies:
A Bachelor\'s Degree in Communication and Digital Media with specialization in "Informationsvidenskab" (Information Science) from Aalborg University entitles the holder to admission to the Master\'s programme if the admission takes place directly after the finished bachelor\'s degree (legal requirements).
Other bachelor programmes that provide access to the masters programme in Information Studies:

For a Bachelor\'s degree to be considered appropriate, its\' central subjects must provide expertise in Information Studies subjects (communication, theory of science, science, epistemology, ICT, learning- and organizational theory, programming methods, design and human-computer interaction) to an extent corresponding to at least 60 ECTS or where core academic elements corresponding to 60 ECTS points coincides with the Bachelor\'s degree in Information Studies.
Applications with similar Danish or foreign educations at a similar level can be accepted pending the approval of the Study Board of Communication and Digital Media (Kommunikation og Digitale Medier). If your application is built on an education that does not grant you direct access to the masters programme, The Study Office will forward your application to the respective Study Board.
The Study Board cannot provide a pre-evaluation of students that do not meet the requirements. This means, that applications will only be reviewed upon final application to the masters programme.
Please noteThe education was until recently named Human Centered Informatics. In the application system you have to choose Human Centered Informatics (Information Studies) in order to apply for Information Studies in 2016.
Limited admissionAdmission is limited. It is expected that 25 students will be admitted both in Aalborg and in Copenhagen.
The qualified applicants will be evaluated and prioritised on the basis of the following criteria:
- Number of aquired ECTS points in excess of the required 60 ECTS points at Bachelor Degree level within the central subject area of Human Centered Informatics:
- Average grade in the aquired ECTS points within the central subject areas in all but the last bacherlor degree semesters (documentation in the form of academic transcript or equivalent).
Are you already the holder of a Master\'s Degree you will normally only be admitted into new Master Degree with limited admittance, if vacant places are announced. In the case of extra ordinary circumstances, you may apply for a dispensation. Documentation for the extraordinary circumstances should be handed in together with your application for admission.
English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
