Academic Requirements
Admission Requirements
Admission to the Masters degree programme in Arab and Islamic Studies requires a bachelors degree with Arab and Islamic studies as its central subject, or a bachelors degree with another central subject in the humanities or social sciences and Arab and Islamic studies as a supplementary subject or minor.
Admission to all programme lines is possible upon approval by the Board of Studies in individual cases where a students bachelor degree does not meet the requirements mentioned, provided that it contains significant qualifications and skills in Arabic language, Middle Eastern studies and/or Islamic studies.
Selection Criteria
As the MA programme has a limited number of places each year, meeting the admission requirements does not in itself guarantee admission to the programme. The admissions committee will assess applicants on the basis of the average mark or GPA of their bachelors degree at the time of application; marks or grades obtained after the application deadline will not be included in the GPA. The admissions committee will assess each applicants marks on the basis of information provided by diplomas and transcripts.English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
