Academic Requirements

1.\xc2\xa0Graduate Application Form - available on the department website
2.\xc2\xa0A one-page printed statement describing the applicant\xc2\x92s goals and motivation for seeking an MA graduate degree at CSULA.
3.\xc2\xa0Two letters of recommendation from professionals in the field who have direct experience with the applicant\xc2\x92s work through an academic or mentor relationship, and who can attest to their creative abilities and their potential for graduate study.
4.\xc2\xa0Copy of BA or BFA transcripts (not required for BA graduates of CSULA).
5.\xc2\xa0Portfolio materials that reflect the applicant\xc2\x92s most successful efforts in Art Education, and that clearly demonstrate original thought and creative abilities, as well as a high level of technical proficiency.
\xc2\xa0\xc2\xa0Portfolio of applicant\xc2\x92s own artwork (CD, selected original artwork, or quality color photocopies).
\xc2\xa0\xc2\xa0Examples of the artwork of applicant\xc2\x92s students (if available).
\xc2\xa0\xc2\xa0Two lesson plans for K-12 art instruction.
6.\xc2\xa0Written responses to five questions. This consists of a 2-hour writing session that will be arranged by appointment.
