Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
- Undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited school in art education, studio art, design or art history
- Minimum 3.0 GPA for the last 60 undergraduate credit hours
- Online Graduate Admission Application
- Official transcripts from all colleges/universities previously attended
- Professional portfolio submission (minimum of 10 digital images of personal works of art)
- Applicants with teaching experience may choose to submit samples of student work as digital images, but it is not a requirement for admission
- Research paper, article, curriculum plan or other sample of academic writing. Applicants who are lacking \xc2\x93academic\xc2\x94 papers may submit two writing samples (details on Application Requirements)
- Three (3) letters of recommendation from a current supervisor, former supervisor and/or professor
- Statement of professional goals for attending graduate school and earning an MA degree in art education
