Bachelor in Ancient and Modern Languages and Literatures

The Bachelor's program offers you: A general education in humanities (philosophy, history, and art history). Core courses in linguistics and literature, including two classes in English immersion (with pedagogical support). Study of major periods and genres in Latin and French literature, combining literary theory, analysis of works, and extensive knowledge of texts. Reflection on the history of the French language and its various states in the contemporary world, as well as practice in creative writing in French. Effective training in mastering the Latin language through a program of lectures (language and texts) and supervised practical work (translations, extensive reading, grammatical training). Introduction to various aspects of the ancient world through courses in classical studies, ancient history, introduction to the Greek language, and Greek literature. The opportunity to deepen certain aspects of your education (linguistics, medieval and modern studies, ancient Greek) or to explore other disciplines (Egyptology, modern language, philosophy, communication) or societal issues (culture and creation, environmental humanities, gender studies, European studies, decentralized history) through a 20-credit option. The opportunity to engage in research during a final cycle project, with strong methodological guidance. Upon completion of the Bachelor's degree, you can continue your education with the Master's in Ancient and Modern Languages.
