Program Overview
The European Construction Management track of the Bachelor in Engineering provides a solid multidisciplinary theoretical and practical background. This tri-national programme takes place in three countries. Year 1: France; Year 2: Luxembourg; Final year: Germany. It involves hands-on projects and an internship. During the final semester, candidates undertake a bachelor thesis, preparing them for the next step in academia or in industry. The Bachelor in Engineering is managed by the Department of Engineering, an interdisciplinary group active in the domains of civil, electrical and mechanical engineering and geophysics. The main focus is on the development of technological solutions, the sustainable and economical use of all kind of resources, the offer of competences for the technological requirements of Luxembourg and the Greater Region industrial and public actors. Program Curriculum
Programme The European Construction Management track of the Bachelor in Engineering offers the following programme:Year 1 takes place in France (Université de Lorraine, Metz) and introduces foreign languages, mathematics and statics.Year 2 takes place in Luxembourg (Université du Luxembourg, Kirchberg) with a focus on construction management, structural engineering and technical mechanics. Between Year 2 and the final year, candidates undertake a 4-month internship and a 8-week project in Saarbrücken.Year 3 takes place in Germany (HTW Saar, Saarbrücken) with courses in project and facility management. The last semester includes a bachelor thesis. Der Studierende versteht seine Aufgaben als interdisziplinäres Arbeitsfeld und kann Auswirkungen auf den erforderlichen Verkehrsraum für die verschiedenen Verkehrsträger abschätzen.Für einfache Fälle beherrscht er die Methoden der Vordimensionierung von Straßenraumquerschnitten im Städtischen Umfeld. Am Beispiel einer innerörtlichen Neugestaltung des Straßenraumes sollen die Studierenden exemplarisch die Dimensionierung der Querschnitte bearbeiten und so sich die Kenntnisse und Standards aus den entsprechenden Normen aneignen.
