Program Overview
The course programme introduces you to a comprehensive study of the biblical sources of Christianity as well as its history, and its doctrinal, ethical and pastoral aspects, including its connections with the spheres of economics, politics, culture and biotechnology. This course is ideal if you wish to prepare for further specialised training in Theology, or would like to relate faith to your own work, or to your professional or social responsibilities. It would also provide you with a good grounding for the teaching of religion at secondary school level or to exercise certain forms of pastoral ministry or community work. By the end of the course, you will be able to demonstrate your acquired knowledge and understanding of the subject by carrying out a research-based dissertation. The Department of Theology encourages you to participate in an Erasmus+ mobility programme, for a more diverse and multicultural academic journey. The communication and academic skills programme complements students’ main course of study. It introduces them to writing and presenting as situated within academic contexts sensitive to specific disciplines and develops their competences for future careers.
Career Opportunities
As a holder of this degree, you will be eligible to register for second-cycle programmes leading to Master's Degrees. As a graduate of Theology, you would be able to work as a chaplain, higher education lecturer or teacher. If you would like to pursue an academic profession at a University standard, then further studies at postgraduate level is encouraged.
