Program Overview
The course aims at providing you with professional training and development as prospective youth workers and youth policy makers. It also seeks to respond and meet the needs of organisations and individuals engaged in youth work. You will thus have the opportunity to develop the necessary skills and knowledge in preparation for the empowerment of young people through reflective youth work practice. Moreover, you are encouraged to adopt an evidence-based outlook to youth work practice and youth policy development, and to consider research and evaluation as vital characteristics of your practice.These aims will be achieved by providing you with the opportunity to engage with various academic perspectives of young people in the community at large, and to build a thorough understanding of the myriad domains that influence the lived experiences of young people. In addition, experiential-based study-units will enable you to link theory with practice. Career Opportunities
Youth work is one of the newest professions in Malta, and being a holder of this degree programme will provide you with the pre-requisite for a career as a professionally-warranted youth worker. In Malta, professional youth workers may be employed in a variety of settings, including Agenzija Zghazagh, schools, youth centres, youth empowerment centres, local councils, and non-government organisations. Successful completion of the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Youth and Community Studies allows you to proceed to enrolment in postgraduate degree programmes such as the Master in Youth and Community Studies.

Admission Requirements
General Entry Requirements Refer to the list of country-specific qualifications Notes and any other requirements Applicants in terms of the 'maturity (adult learners) clause' are required to sit for an English Proficiency Test to be held in September. Successful applicants will then be required to sit for an interview in September. Such applicants shall be exempted from sitting for the proficiency test if they are in possession of a pass at SEC level English at Grade 5 or better or equivalent.
