Academic Requirements
In addition to the minimum requirements for admission to the University of Wisconsin Graduate School, applicants should have completed three semesters of Biology, including some genetics; four semesters of Chemistry, including organic; two semesters of Physics; one Math course beyond algebra and trigonometry (i.e. calculus, statistics, or computer sciences). Applications from students lacking the general requirements may be considered, but deficiencies must be absolved before completion of the program. Students must also fulfill the general requirements of a one semester course in each of the following: general microbiology, biochemistry, microbial genetics, and microbial physiology. The general requirements can be completed before entry or as part of the program.
