Academic Requirements

Prospective students apply first to an affiliated hospital school of anesthesia. The hospital school will then provide the necessary information regarding University and Hospital School application and acceptance procedures. Names, addresses, and phone numbers of the directors of the affiliated hospital schools of nurse anesthesia are below. In essence, in addition to general requirements of admission the applicant must:1. possess a BSN or other appropriate bachelor\'s degree, and satisfy both the University\'s and the affiliated hospital school of nurse anesthesia\xc2\x92s criteria for acceptance; for specific information about GPA and GRE requirements, contact our affiliated hospital schools of nurse anesthesia;2. be a licensed registered nurse;3. have completed 1-2 years of critical care nursing; for specific information about critical care nursing requirements, contact our affiliated hospital schools of nurse anesthesia4. have completed a year of anatomy and physiology, a year of chemistry, and one course in microbiology. (If courses in anatomy and physiology or courses in chemistry are older than 10 years, we ask that you retake one course in each in those disciplines that is older than 10 years. Some affiliated hospital schools of nurse anesthesia require organic or biochemistry.

English Proficiency: IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.
