Academic Requirements

There are three specialisations within the M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering:

Requirements for the specialisation Well Engineering

  • A Bachelor\'s degree in Petroleum Engineering and/or Petroleum Technology, or equivalent
  • Applicants with a Bachelor\xc2\x92s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, may also be taken into consideration if they document at least 30 ECTS credits in petroleum related courses
  • All applicants have to document at least 30 ECTS credits in mathematics/statistics/calculus of probability

Requirements for the specialisation Reservoir Engineering

  • A Bachelor\'s degree in Petroleum Engineering and/or Petroleum Technology, or equivalent
  • Applicants with a Bachelor\xc2\x92s degree in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Physical Chemistry, or equivalent, may also be taken into consideration if they document at least 30 ECTS in petroleum related courses
  • All applicants have to document at least 30 ECTS credits in mathematics/statistics/calculus of probability

Requirements for the specialisation Natural Gas Engineering

  • A Bachelor\'s degree in Petroleum Engineering and/or Petroleum Technology, or equivalent
  • Applicants with a Bachelor\xc2\x92s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent may also be taken into consideration if they document at least 30 ECTS credits in petroleum related courses
  • All applicants have to document at least 30 ECTS credits in mathematics/statistics/calculus of probability

What is an equivalent degree?

An equivalent engineering/ technology degree should be relevant to the petroleum engineering field and must include some of the following courses: geology, drilling, reservoir technology, oil and gas production, well logging and drill and well fluids.

English Proficiency: IELTS 6 or equivalent.
