Academic Requirements
Bachelor\xc2\x92s degrees that grant direct access
If you hold one of the degrees listed below, you are considered to meet all admission requirements and have direct access to apply to the Master\xc2\x92s programme in Biology-Biotechnology.
- BSc in Biology-Biotechnology from the University of Copenhagen (reserved access*)
* If your Bachelor\xc2\x92s degree grants reserved access, you are guaranteed a place on the Master\xc2\x92s programme if you apply before the application deadline during the first application period after you complete your Bachelor\xc2\x92s degree.
Other Bachelor\xc2\x92s degrees
If you have a Bachelor\xc2\x92s degree other than those listed above, you must submit additional documentation along with your application so the University can evaluate whether or not you meet the admission requirements.
If you have a Bachelor\xc2\x92s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Natural Resources, Molecular Biomedicine or Molecular Biology from the University of Copenhagen or other Danish or international universities \xc3\xbdou may be admitted if your programme includes the following elements:
- 15 ECTS credits within a biological system (plants, animals or microbiology)
- 15 ECTS credits within biochemistry/organic chemistry
- 15 ECTS credits within biotechnology methods
- In total, you must have a minimum of 30 ECTS credits that stem from courses with experimental laboratory exercises.
Language requirements
If you have a Nordic Bachelor\xc2\x92s degree, you must as a minimum be able to document English language qualifications comparable to a Danish upper secondary school English B level.
If you have a non-Nordic Bachelor\xc2\x92s degree you must be able to document your English language skills.
Prioritisation of applicants
If the number of qualified applicants to the programme exceeds the number of places available, applicants will be prioritised as follows:
Applicants are prioritised according to grades achieved in the areas concerned in 2. If different grading systems make comparison impossible, the Admission Commitee will prioritize applicants on the basis of an individual evaluation.
