- the principal statistical techniques for analysis of empirical data (e.g., correlation; regression; testing for averages; testing for interaction effects; basic analysis of repeated measurements)
- the principal properties of tests (e.g., reliability and validity, classic and modern test theory, factor analysis)
- frequently used experimental designs (e.g., multiple-factor designs, n=1 designs)
- effects that can distort results (e.g., experimenter-expectancy effects, demand characteristics, threats to validity such as regression toward the mean)
