Academic Requirements

Applicants for the Master\'s Program in Biomedical Engineering in Lübeck must have a university or university of applied sciences degree (e.g. Bachelor\'s Degree) in one of the following areas:

  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Medical Technology
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronics
  • Information Technology
  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Materials Technology

Additionally, applicants with a master degree in a comparable field may also apply for a position in this program. Students’ eligibility is evaluated by a committee who look at application grades and length of study as well as the relevant technical degree. Since all bachelor degrees are not equivalent worldwide, the decision to admit applicants will be made on a case-by-case basis.

PLEASE NOTE: Applicants who hold a degree in medical sciences (MD) or a degree in business sciences (economics) without a second technical degree do not fulfill the requirements to apply to this master\'s program.

Students must have a bachelor\'s or diploma degree with a grade of 2.5 or better (German grading system).
