Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
In order to enrol in the Laurea Magistrale in Biomedical Sciences (BARB), the following requirement must be met:
- Degree (Laurea Triennale) in Biology (class L13) or Biotechnology (class L2), obtained at any University in Italy, provided the candidate has followed a study curriculum consistent with a biomolecular, physiopathological or biomedical path.
- Degree (Laurea Triennale) in the same class, the corresponding class according to Italian law DM 509/99, or in an affine class, or a Laurea or BSc obtained abroad that has been recognized as equivalent, provided that an adequate number of ECTS have been acquired in scientific -disciplinary fields consistent with the rules of the Laurea Magistrale, and in particular at least 40 ECTS in cellular, molecular, physiological and biomedical disciplines.
The personal preparation of each candidate, and in particular adequate proficiency in English language, will be evaluated during a personal interview with a commission nominated to this purpose by the Study Course Committee about the basic principles of physio-pharmacology, molecular and cellular biology, and biochemistry.
A negative result in the interview will prevent enrolment in the study program.
All students will obligatorily attend a Scientific English course before beginning the classes.
To access the Double Degree Program the candidate must submit a specific application, which will be evaluated by a committee constituted to that purpose at Insubria and approved by the Teaching Board of the Msc in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Applied Sciences, Bonn-Rhein-Sieg.- Foreign students (extra UE): need a Pre application at Italian embassies or consulates, for which they can apply in the second half of March-first half of July
- Furthermore, all students with a foreign qualification (high school for undergraduate applicants; bachelor for master applicants) must prepare a legalized and officially translated in Italian copy of their qualifications and ask the Italian embassies or consulates for the Dichiarazione di Valore (Declaration of Value); such documents must be submitted together with the registration fee receipt (655) at the students affairs.
