Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
- Complete at least eight courses (32 credits hours) of core coursework.
- Pass each of the eight core MS courses with at least a C+ in each course.
- Maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 (B) or better.
- Complete at least four courses (12 credit hours) of elective courses in statistical or biomedical subject matter.
- Pass the first-year comprehensive examination at the MS level.
- Complete the interdisciplinary research rotations.
- Pass the doctoral qualifying oral examination (typically completed in the third year).
- Submit a master\xc2\x92s thesis detailing an original investigation in an area of biostatistics. The investigation may be theoretical or applied in nature and must represent publishable work.
- Present thesis findings in a Departmental seminar.
English Proficiency: IELTS 7 or equivalent.
