Course Structure
- Compulsory modules: these modules must all be passed. They provide extended basic knowledge of the biotechnology and bioengineering sector and form the general foundations of the degree programme.
- Subject-specific modules: a catalogue of subject-specific modules is offered, from which two modules must be chosen. Students may develop their specialist knowledge in line with their interests and preferences.
- Interdisciplinary modules: a catalogue of modules is offered, from which one module must be chosen. These modules cover transversal skills.
- Industry-specific applications: a catalogue of modules is also offered here, from which two modules must be chosen. The modules focus on techniques used, and favoured, in specific industries.
- Free elective module: one module can be freely chosen from the subject-specific modules or the interdisciplinary modules or the industry-specific applications.

Academic Requirements
- Completion of an appropriate bachelor\'s degree programme with 210 EC or at least 180 EC plus additional requirements
- Basic knowledge from the previous degree course: biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, process technology and computer science/IT
- Above-average degree results with a minimum overall examination mark of \'good\' (above 2.6) or among the top 50%
- Undergraduate German studies or demonstration of sufficient minimum language skills equivalent to Level B2 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference
