The Associate degrees in Business Education are designed for students who plan to transfer to a business program at a four-year college/university.  The program is designed to provide a student with a strong fundamental foundation of general education and the basic principles of business and technologies’ theory, procedures, and practices.  The Associates degrees consist of 62-64 hours.

Explore Your Options in the Business Fields Lawson State offers a variety of transferable Business pathways to include Business Administration and Business Education.  To explore more Business pathways click on the Alabama Transfers bar below.  Any area of concentration you select, you can take the classes here at Lawson State or complete the bulk of your classes here, transfer early and complete a Reverse Transfer to complete your studies at the four-year college.  Student graduating from Lawson's Business Department are awarded with Associate 2-year degrees--either Associate in Science or Associate in Arts depending on the specific Area of Concentration the student selects.  Credits awarded (up to 64) do transfer to 4-year colleges. The Business Administration AA Transfer Program is designed for students who are planning to transfer into baccalaureate degree programs in business administration, management, marketing, finance and accounting along with other business programs offered at four-year institutions. The coursework includes the basic business courses that are generally acceptable to the transfer institution. The major emphasis is on completion of general education requirements that are part of the senior institution's requirements for business majors. These are in the liberal arts areas of math, science, humanities, and social sciences. Students enrolling in this transfer program should be aware of the course requirements and application of transfer credits at the institutions to which they are considering transferring. Each student should work closely with the Alabama Transfers program, their advisor, and transfer counselor to be sure that their requirements are sufficient. An internship is not required. The Business Education AA Transfer Program is designed for students who are planning to transfer into baccalaureate degree programs in entrepreneurship, real estate, e-business, technology management, banking, business communications, computer science, e-commerce, educational leadership, economics, human resources, public administration, labor relations, paralegal, along with other business technologies programs offered at four-year institutions. The coursework includes the basic business courses that are generally acceptable to the transfer institution. The major emphasis is on completion of general education requirements that are part of the senior institution's requirements for business majors. These are in the liberal arts areas of math, science, humanities and social sciences.
