Course Structure

  1. The programme consists of six taught modules, five core and an optional module related to the chosen pathway. The five core modules are Skills to affect change within Business, Rural Business dynamics, Integrating Learning with business needs, Research and Development, Planning and evaluating change management programmes.
  2. The three modules related to the three pathways are Innovation management for rural business, Rural Enterprise Development and Business Communication
  3. To complete the programme at Masters level there is the requirement to complete a three module weighted research project.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: Lower Second Class

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Lower Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

  • MSc A 2.2 Honours degree or above or equivalent qualification acceptable to the University in Business/Management Studies, Agriculture, Food Science or Food Technology, Geography or other approved subject.

  • This programme is not open to non-EEA nationals. EEA nationals for whom English is not their first language must satisfy University requirements for English language by providing evidence of an IELTS* score of 6.0, with not less than 5.5 in any component, or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the University is required. (*Taken within the last 2 years.)
