Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
Students interested in the Master of Science in Academic Advising program must apply to the K-State Graduate School and be admitted as degree-seeking students before enrolling in classes. Admission decisions will be based on a combination of factors, including prior academic achievement, the nature of a students academic preparation, and the relatedness of the programs offering to a students goals. In general, a student with a bachelors degree with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 from an accredited institution can expect to be admitted to the masters degree program.
Students who have completed only a bachelors degree and have a cumulative grade point average below a 3.0 are required to submit current Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Miller Analogies Test (MAT) scores. Students may not enroll in classes as a nondegree K-State Global Campus student.
Applicants to graduate degree programs pay a non-refundable application fee of:
- $50 for U.S. citizens and permanent residents and
- $75 for international applicants
