Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

Applicants to the program must have an undergraduate degree in a relevant engineering discipline.

Applicants with non-engineering bachelor degrees (in science and technology) will be considered for admission if they can demonstrate that there degree offered them similar learning outcomes as the relevant engineering degree. Admission will be handled on a case-by-case basis by evaluating the student’s undergraduate curriculum. Deficiencies in subject areas will be made up through appropriate prerequisite course work defined by the Admission Committee on an individual basis, additionally to the program.

Admissions decisions will be based on consideration of the following factors:
  • completion of the on-line application form by the applicant;
  • demonstration of completion of a satisfactory undergraduate degree program in an appropriate field or discipline with a minimum CGPA of at least 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale);
  • evidence of sufficient English language skill to be able to function satisfactorily in a graduate level, English-medium environment, which can be demonstrated by (a) the minimum scores of 6.5 on the IELTS test, with no less than a 6.0 in any subsection, for full admission or the TOEFL equivalent; or (b) evidence of being a native or fluent speaker of English to the satisfaction of the Admissions Committee in an interview with School of Engineering Admission Committee;
  • a statement of purpose for graduate studies
  • two letters of reference

In addition, selected applicants may be invited to campus or skype for a personal interview with the Admissions Committee. All of these factors will be taken into account in the final recommendation of the Admissions Committee with respect to admission to the MSc program.
