Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

A bachelor degree in any discipline or at least three years of professional experience in the animation, games, interactivity and/or digital media area. For equivalents to Australian academic entry requirements, see the Country equivalents web page.

Applicants who have completed the Bachelor of Design (Animation and Interactive Media), Bachelor of Design (Games) or Bachelor of Design (Digital Media) with a GPA of 3.0 will be guaranteed entry into this program and will be exempt from completing the selection tasks.

Entry requirements:
  • You must have successfully completed an Australian Bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) in any discipline.
  • You may also be considered if you have atleast three years of professional experience in the animation, games, interactivity and/or digital media area.
Interview
  • Some applicants may be invited to an interview.
Online pre-selection kit

The online pre-selection kit requires an applicant statement of no more than 300 words describing why you wish to study this program, what you hope to achieve in your time at RMIT and where you think it might lead you in terms of a career and/or personal development.

You must provide a short piece of creative writing which illustrates your ability to tell a story, or a short piece of critical writing which demonstrates your analytical skills, based on one of the following four themes:

The piece should be approximately 350 words. Files must not exceed 5MB.

You must also complete a visual storyboard consisting of 12 image-only panels that communicates how your narrative or non-narrative idea unfolds and resolves over time. Please choose one the following four themes to respond to:

English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
