You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
- Undergraduate degree with a major in Chemistry or 32 hours of undergraduate courses in Chemistry.
- \xc2\xa0Undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0.
- Official transcripts from each institution attended (must be submitted directly to UTRGV).
- Two \xc2\xa0letters \xc2\xa0of \xc2\xa0recommendation \xc2\xa0from \xc2\xa0professional \xc2\xa0or \xc2\xa0academic sources.
- Statement of Interest explaining objectives in pursuing the degree and area of interest within chemistry or in biochemistry or material science.
- GRE General Test. GRE test scores are valid for 5 years. A waiver of the GRE requirement will be granted to applicants who show proof of completing a graduate degree (master\xc2\x92s or doctoral).
English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
