Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
The minimum requirements for admission to the Master\'s Degree are as described in Section 3 of the Regulations for Master\'s Degrees (Forskrift om krav til mastergrad), issued by the Ministry of Education and Research on 2nd July 2002. The requirements stipulate that an appropriate level of education must be achieved before admission to a Master\'s Degree is granted.
Educational backgrounds can be a completed Bachelor\'s Degree, "Cand.Mag." degree, other degrees or programmes of education of minimum three years duration or other educational qualification approved as academically equivalent, cf. Section 3-4 of the Norwegian Act of 1st April 2005 Relating to Universities and University Colleges.
The three-year programme of education must include:
- In-depth study of subjects, topics or topic groups equivalent to at least 80 ECTS credits or an integrated programme of minimum 120 ECTS credits within the field of product design
- A portfolio consisting of products/documentation and Letter of Motivation that will be assessed by an academic committee appointed by the Department
Both requirements must be fulfilled in order for the applicant to be considered for admission
English Proficiency: IELTS 6 or equivalent.
