Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

To be considered eligible for the programme you must fulfil both the general and specific admission requirements. The general admission requirements are the same for all programmes at KTH while the programme specific requirements vary between the programmes.

Programme specific admission requirements

A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in a field related to Civil Engineering. In addition the students are required to have at least 20 ECTS credits in mathematics, including linear algebra, multivariate analysis and statistics.

A fundamental knowledge in

  • Numerical Methods and/or programming equivalent to 6 ECTS credits
  • Building Mechanics, equivalent to 7,5 ECTS credits
  • Structural Mechanics, equivalent to 7,5 ECTS credits
  • Geology and Geotechnology, equivalent to 6 ECTS credits
  • Building Materials, equivalent to 7,5 ECTS credits
  • Building Physics (heat- and moisture transport), equivalent to 7,5 ECTS credits is required.

Fluid Mechanics and Hydrology are prerequisites to certain courses of the curriculum.
