Course Structure
- CEE Electives
- Non-CEE Electives
- Electives must be chosen so that at least one-half of the credits counted toward the degree, exclusive of thesis, are 600-level; at least 15 hours of coursework must be in CEE.
- Technical Electives need not necessarily be CEE courses, but the student\x92s research adviser or academic adviser must approve non-CEE courses.
- For the thesis option, a student is required to select both an approved M.S. thesis topic and the director and members of the thesis committee during the first term of Graduate Studies. The thesis director must give approval for enrollment in CEE 690.
- Candidates for the Master of Science degree must have a minimum final cumulative grade point average of 3.00 for all academic work attempted in Graduate Studies.

You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.75 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
In addition to completing the application for admission and paying the $60 non-refundable application fee, applicants must have:
- Bachelor\'s degree in civil engineering
- 2.75 cumulative grade point average (GPA) on 4.0 scale
- Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work from accredited institutions
- Minimum Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores of 295 (combined verbal and quantitative.) If you completed the GRE prior to August 2012, the acceptable score is 1000 on the previous scale.
