Courses examine research methods, study design, biostatistics, epidemiology, and clinical trials. The Clinical Epidemiology Certificate is intended for: Clinicians (physicians and nurses) Other clinical researchers Those working in pharmaceutical and related industries The Clinical Epidemiology Certificate program has provided me with an excellent foundation for evaluating critical public health issues as they pertain to clinical research. The program’s flexibility and quality of the faculty makes this a positive experience. Clinical Epidemiology Certificate Student Program Design You can complete the Clinical Epidemiology Certificate in two to three semesters, or you can plan a schedule for completing the courses over a two-year period (maximum timeframe).

Program Curriculum
Curriculum Requirements (15 credits)
Courses are available in-person, remote and/or online, varying by semester and course.
- PHCO 0502 - Principles and Methods of Epidemiology (3 cr.)
- PHCO 0504 - Introduction to Biostatistics * (3 cr.)
- EPID 0656 - Intermediate Epidemiologic Research Methods (3 cr.)
- BPHE 5310 - Scientific Concepts and Research Design (3 cr.)
Choose one of the following three:
- EPID 0563 - Introduction to Outcomes Research (3 cr.)
- EPID 0672 - Pharmacoepidemiology and Therapeutic Risk Management (3 cr.)
- Elective - Select an elective with permission from the Program Coordinator (3 cr.)
* Prerequisite: Quantitative Skills Assessment
Graduates of CEPH-accredited schools and programs of public health may transfer up to six (6) credits towards a certificate program if earned within the past seven years with a grade of B or better and are deemed appropriate by the respective Certificate Program Coordinator.
