Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.8 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
Admission Requirements
A student applying to a master\'s program must:- have earned a four-year bachelor\'s degree or its equivalent from a college or university that is accredited by the appropriate regional accrediting association, or do so within one academic year
- have a minimum 2.8 GPA (on a scale in which an A is a 4.0) for the last 60 hours of undergraduate work
- present official transcripts from each college or university other than Illinois State at which graduate, undergraduate, or non-degree credit was earned.

A student applying to this program must:- Undergraduate degree in music, or the equivalent for international students.
- School of Music application (included within the university application).
- A minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.8 for the last 60 hours of undergraduate enrollment.
- Three current letters of recommendation
- A live or recorded performance audition on the applicant\xc2\x92s primary applied instrument.
- The GRE is not required.
