Academic Requirements
1. A Bachelor\'s degree in Communication and Information\nStudies or related area
\nIn general, students\' previous education should cover the following subject\nareas: Communication Studies, Management &\nOrganisation, Intercultural Communication or (Inter)Cultural\nStudies and Linguistics.
\n2. Experience in quantitative research
\nAs conducting communication research is an essential component of this\nprogramme, candidates should have experience in doing quantitative research\n(e.g. experimental or survey research) and knowledge of inferential statistics\n(e.g. t-test, ANOVA, Chi-square)
3. Proficiency in English
\nNon-native\nspeakers* of English need one of the following:
- A TOEFL score of >=600 (paper based) or >100\n(internet based)
- IELTS score of >=7.0 (overall band) and >=6.5\n(writing)
- Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE),\nwith a mark of at least B
- Cambridge Proficiency in English (CPE), with a\nmark of at least C
- successful\ncompletion of a Bachelor\'s programme that was taught completely in the English\nlanguage in one of the following countries: EU/EEA-countries, Australia, Canada\n(with exception of Quebec), New Zealand, USA.
4. Motivation
\nWell also consider your portfolio, practical experience (for example, studies\nor work experience abroad) and motivation in order to determine whether you\nmeet the requirements and are suitable for this specialisation. An interview\nmay be part of the selection process.
