Academic Requirements

All Applications require:

  • Transcripts from each college/university-level institution that you have attended.
  • Two Letters of Recommendation (exception: curent McGill students applying to a new degree need not submit recommendation letters).
  • Personal Statement: A statement describing reasons for applying to graduate studies and the Schulich School of Music. Please indicate qualifications, qualities or circumstances to be significant; please provide information about educational and professional aims and goals (PDF format maximum size 5 MB).
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV): An overview of your experience and other qualifications, including employment, academic credentials, publications, honours, awards, contributions and significant achievements. This can be uploaded to your application (PDF format maximum size 5 MB).
  • Live or Recorded Audition (see Audition Information for details.)
  • Applicants to the Performance program are expected to have a background in Music Theory equivalent to the B.Mus. in Performance. Applicants found to be deficient in their background preparation may be required to take certain additional music theory undergraduate courses.
