Academic Requirements

The Biomedical Engineering department prides itself on the diversity of its students \xc2\x96 hailing from all areas of engineering and from the physical, chemical and life sciences and dentistry \xc2\x96 that choose to pursue graduate degrees with us.
  • Applicants for the Master\'s program must hold a B.Eng., B.Sc., or M.D. degree from a recognized university and have a sufficiently high academic standing to be admitted.
  • Applicants should have Cumulative Grade Point Averages (CGPA\'s) of at least 3.3 out of 4, or the equivalent.
The applicant\'s academic background should include at least:
  • four courses (12 credits) of university level mathematics beyond calculus (i.e., the equivalent of 200-level or higher university level), that cover differential equations, complex variables, linear algebra, and probability and statistics; and
  • four courses (12 credits) of university-level (i.e., the equivalent of 200-level or higher) foundation courses in the physical sciences such as electromagnetics, mechanics, biophysics and physical chemistry.
For Qu\xc3\xa9bec applicants, C\xc3\x89GEP-level courses are not considered university-level courses and will not qualify as pre-requisites.

English Proficiency: IELTS 7 or equivalent.
