Program Overview

Der englischsprachige Masterstudiengang Computational and Data Science am KIT ist interdisziplinär und flexibel gestaltbar ausgerichtet. Die besondere Verbindung von Data Science und Computational Science sowie die interdisziplinäre Ausrichtung geben diesem Studiengang in der deutschen Hochschullandschaft ein unverwechselbares Profil. Er bietet damit eine optimale Vorbereitung auf die Herausforderungen des digitalen Zeitalters. Neben Mathematik und Informatik wählst du aus verschiedenen Fachbereichen ein Anwendungsgebiet für deine spätere berufliche oder wissenschaftliche Tätigkeit aus. In den Fächern des Studiengangs sind die Module überwiegend frei wählbar, und sogar die Fachgrößen kannst du teilweise an deine Bedürfnisse anpassen. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf forschungsnaher Lehre. Die Regelstudienzeit beträgt 4 Fachsemester, und du erwirbst 120 Leistungspunkte nach ECTS (LP). Ein besonderes Merkmal des Studiengangs ist die Integration eines Hackathons, in welchem du in einem Team intensiv an einem Projekt arbeitest und eine kreative technische Lösung erarbeitest. Der Studiengang ist unterteilt in Pflichtfächer, die du belegen musst, innerhalb derer du aber auf Modulebene Wahlfreiheiten hast. Außerdem wählst du dir im Wahlpflichtbereich zwei Fächer – dein individuelles Profil im Fach Sciences, Engineering, Economics (SEE) und eine Vertiefung. Darüber hinaus schärfst du dein wissenschaftliches Profil durch dein Anwendungsgebiet im Fach SEE und deine Vertiefung:
