Academic Requirements

Requirements for admission to the departmental MA programmes

  • An undergraduate degree in English Studies from an internationally recognised university AND)
  • Applicants whose first language is not English must provide evidence of their written and spoken English skills (English language proficiency at level C 1 - CEFR). The following are acceptable:
either
  • a degree from a university in an EU/EEC member state and Switzerland which was taught completely in English
OR
  • official results of one of the following proficiency exams (not older than 3 years):
- TOEFL: ibt (internet-based): 110 minimum; "Paper:" 627 minimum
- IELTS: Overall Band Score: 8 (minimum of 7.5 per component)
- Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): Grade A
- Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): minimum Grade C

English Proficiency: IELTS 8 or equivalent.
