Academic Requirements

  • Transcripts for each member of the ensemble
  • Three references for the ensemble (letters not required, ensure the same references are used on all members\' applications)
  • Ensemble biography, artistic statement for the ensemble, and the ensemble repertoire list (to be submitted as part of the application, lead member only)
  • Sample paper-length academic musical writing from each member of the ensemble. This should be a substantial paper from an undergraduate upper level Music Theory or Music History class.
  • Theory diagnostic exam (to be administered at the audition site)
  • Test scores not required but TOEFL is set at 100 for non-native speakers
  • Sample video recording, ideally from a live performance. This will not be used as a screening as much as to represent how the group presents itself.
